Multi-Profile Transcoding for VOD
Media Processing Explained
Media processing services are a set of facilities we offer in our digital labs to prepare video content for multi-platform broadcast, especially for Video-On-Demand. The content is first received from our clients over a private cloud network, secured with DRM (Digital Rights Management) and other media content management software. The mezzanine videos undergo the first phase, which is localization, where they get subtitled and dubbed into several languages. Then necessary metadata is prepared for the deliverables and other online TV guides. The last phase is the more technical video transcoding, where automated pipelines process the videos and output several profiles of the same original content, suitable for multicasting on Digital TV, Websites, Mobile TV, and In-flight entertainment.
TV, Mobile, or the WWW
VOD platforms require the preparation of each video in formats suitable for all digital equipment. It is our job to transform and optimize it for different screen sizes and different internet speeds. Although very strenuous, these procedures remain hidden to the end-user. This is how we scale our success.
Efficient Workflow for High Volumes
With the help of experienced editors and video engineers, we prepare several thousand hours every month and deliver them over our cloud network with transmission speeds as high as 30% the airing time for SD and 85% for HD material.
Powerful Transcoding Farm
Screens’ Media Processing labs are state-of-the-art studios equipped with high-end multi-core servers joined as “Processing Farms”. With the use of special software from ATEME and SORENSON, we simultaneously export the processed material into different specific formats required by the client.
